Firefox as you all know is one of the best internet browsers ever.I personally LOVE Firefox and have firefox on all my machines. So here they are after 34 months of development, releasing their latest version Mozilla Firefox 3 on the 17th of June thats this coming Tuesday!!This time its not just about the new version.Hope you are aware that mozilla plan to create a new world record this time for the Most Software Downloaded in 24 Hours. So if you use firefox and you are a true fan then please GO HERE and Pledge and ensure that you download Firefox 3 this coming Tuesday!!!
As mentioned earlier this release has quite a lot of new features like:

* One-click site info: Click the site favicon in the location bar to see who owns the site and to check if your connection is protected from eavesdropping. Identity verification is prominently displayed and easier to understand. When a site uses Extended Validation (EV) SSL certificates, the site favicon button will turn green and show the name of the company you're connected to. (Try it here!)
* Malware Protection: malware protection warns users when they arrive at sites which are known to install viruses, spyware, trojans or other malware. (Try it here!)
* New Web Forgery Protection page: the content of pages suspected as web forgeries is no longer shown.
* New SSL error pages: clearer and stricter error pages are used when Firefox encounters an invalid SSL certificate.
* Add-ons and Plugin version check: Firefox now automatically checks add-on and plugin versions and will disable older, insecure versions.
* Secure add-on updates: to improve add-on update security, add-ons that provide updates in an insecure manner will be disabled.
* Anti-virus integration: Firefox will inform anti-virus software when downloading executables.
* Vista Parental Controls: Firefox now respects the Vista system-wide parental control setting for disabling file downloads.
* Effective top-level domain (eTLD) service better restricts cookies and other restricted content to a single domain.
* Better protection against cross-site JSON data leaks.

One important fix i found was that now firefox would be a little more lighter in terms of memory usage.Firefox used to use a lot of memory earlier.Their new version promises reduced memory usage.Im really excited about this release and will surely download firefox 3 on tuesday, hope we set the world record :-)

I have been using the new FF for some time now. It came native in Hardy and if it was not for the fact that many add-ons did not work, I would have used it exclusively. So far I really like it. They added many new features. Many are small items but they are really noticeable such as with scripts in adblock - in FF2 if you allowed forgot to approve script running when filling out a form or log in you would lose any data entered. Now it asks you if you want to keep the data. A small item but much better than having to fill out a form all over again. One of my frustrations with the beta version was not all plug-ins and Add-ons worked but it appears now that most are starting to be available for FF3 - most of my favorites are at least (Foxmarks, adblock, DownThemAll, Ubuntu Forum to name a few). FF3 looks like a winner to me. By they way, the new Opera has also been released and getting good reviews but it does not have the range of plug-ins FF3 has so I think I will stick with FF3 for now.

Hi cozmicharlie,
i have to agree, Firefox is a winner primarily because of its plugins and addons..and yea opera 9.5 has also arrived thought i'll write about it later on :-)

Hi Prash, Hope you are ok ? Great article and very informative. I presently have been using 2 browsers testing them out after disaster with IE6, talk about controlling your computer with so called security patches, better be careful l will have the Microsoft police after me.

Anyway my two browsers are Safari 3.1 { yep l have heard the rumours} but it is not as good as Firefox and l will be down-loading FF 3. Do you reckon the site will be able to cope?

But like new features and will certainly test it out, thanks as always -

Well im sure they would be prepared for all this mate, they probably will setup multiple mirror servers and accordingly will balance the load.
