Incase you use gmail, you would find it very helpful to know the ip address of the sender of an email.Could be helpful to see if the sender is original and not a fake, also could help in telling you where the sender is from and lot more details..So here's how you find out the ip address of sender :
Step 1 : In your gmail homepage, open the email which the sender sent you and click on the triangle icon on the right - next to the REPLY button
Step 2 : Then click on SHOW ORIGINAL MESSAGE from the drop down menu as shown in the screenshot
Step 3 : This would open the original message, Now look for the phrase "Received by" and you should see an ip address next to it.If you see multiple "Received by" then consider the last one
Step 4 : Incase you still dont find it , you may see a line like Authentication-Results: mx.google.com; feedreader.bounces.google.com designates x.x.x.x as permitted sender here x.x.x.x would be the ip address of sender
or something like
client-ip=x.x.x.x
Step 5 : This x.x.x.x can be entered in a site LIKE THIS to find out where this person has sent the email from.
