Airtel Fair Usage Policy In India - Sign the Petition , Join the Protest

As i have already mentioned in my post few weeks back about Airtel's Fair Usage Policy which is truly unfair , The people at broadbandforum.in have taken an initiative to protest against this new thing by Airtel and i truly salute to the people at broadbandforum.in for this great step . I think as Indians we should support this protest so that airtel would realize what they have done and bring back things back to normal. For those of you who arent airtel users , its not that the same thing cannot take place with other ISP's like BSNL . If airtel continues like this , then BSNL would follow, You never know, and this more importantly is slowing down the growth of the internet in India.

There are countries planning on Gbps and improving their infrastructure and we in India are still in kbps.Its a total shame , and if things like this are brought about by Airtel then god knows for how much more time we would remain in kbps . People were expecting ISP's to improve the internet speeds for all plans by this april . But with things like this taking place , i dont see it coming . SO there is a need for us protest and tell Airtel what we think . Even if you are not an Airtel user but you care about the current situation , you still can sign the petition . According to the protest , if Airtel refuses to react to it , We as people , would stop the use of Airtel broadband and Not recommend it to friends,neighbours .

"In an nutshell, what it means is that if you have an unlimited plan that is, say, 512kbps in speed, after a certain cap they will halve your speed to 256kbps for the rest of the month, while charging you the same amount that they have been charging you till now for 512kbps for the whole month!!! Essentially they are giving you less (up to 45% less) service but for the same price!!! And the cap can be reached in as quick as 5-6 days if you are a heavy user."
