This is a recent hack i found on the internet which i thought i definetly should share with you . The following procedure would increase your battery backup time to approximately 7 days . So you use your laptop for 1 week at a stretch without connecting it to your power supply . Your laptop would run for 1 week continuously on battery power . Sounds cool , well sure is .. The best part is this works for windows as well as ubuntu . I've tried it out and it works perfectly for me . You can see the screenshot below for proof . SO here' how you do it on your pc :
The following screenshot shows you that i have around 163 hours of battery backup which if you convert comes to around 7 days of battery power . Pretty cool right!!
This procedure is pretty simple and i'm sure it would work for you :
Step 1 : Go to your home folder in ubuntu like for example for me it is /home/prash . Windows users go to the C Drive (C:\)
Step 2 : Ensure that your laptop is plugged into direct power as it is required for the following process
Step 3 : Now Create a file called batbackup.txt in your home folder ( for ubuntu ) or C drive ( for windows)
Step 4 : Leave the file blank and save it.
Step 5 : Now reboot your system , this is required so that the batbackup.txt file is recognized by your operating system.
Step 6 : Now Open the batbackup.txt file either in notepad or text editor and copy paste the following code in it. NOTE : DO NOT change any part of the code , leave it as it is , changing the code could result in losing vital data on your pc and could even corrupt your operating system.
Step 7 : Here's the code which you need to paste
I WAS JUST FOOLED BY PRASH . I TOTALLY FORGOT ITS APRIL FOOL'S DAY TODAY.Haha..
Step 8 : Now save the file and reboot your machine and pray that you get battery backup time like mine :) .
Haha .. I had the best time making this tutorial :) . Actually i didnt make any modification in the above screenshot . That was some ubuntu bug which showed 163 hours of battery backup time. I hope you fell for it :) and enjoyed it as well :) . Take care..

Dude, its April Fools... dont be a rude fool. Just laugh it off and move on. :D
I thought this would be a nice April fools catch-em tip, and it was.
Still, with 600Amp hours of fully charged battery behind me, I think 7 days would be a definite minimum really!
Have a happy April ;)
