We often need to use proxy servers in our day to day browsing . Be it for just testing our websites , or remaining anonymous , or use a server which works for certain countries only . So here's a small tutorial on how to use proxy with firefox :

Step 1 : First you need to choose a proxy server , there are a LOT of proxy servers available on the internet for FREE . CLICK HERE to view a list of proxy servers.Choose whichever you look , you can even choose based on country. Note down the port number as well for the respective proxy server

Step 2 : For this tutorial i am choosing 118.98.160.102 as the proxy server which runs on port 8080. This is an Indonesian server so it would seem as though i'm from indonesia :)
Step 3 : Open firefox and go to Edit->Preferences

Step 4 : Then go to Advanced
Step 5 : Now Click on Network tab and the click Settings button under Connection

Step 6 : Select Manual Proxy Settings . Now enter the proxy server's IP address in HTTP Proxy and Port number in Port. ( In this example HTTP Proxy address is 118.98.160.102 and Port is 8080).Also check the box 'Use this proxy server for all protocols'.

Step 7 : Click on OK and your done!!
Step 8 : To check your settings , you could try GOING HERE.The following screenshots would show how it is for me :
