MTU values sometimes need to be changed to a suitable value for websites to load . There are various reasons why you need to edit your MTU values. Sometimes certain websites do not load at all , sometimes a part of a website loads . In fact its very common to see microsoft websites like msn.com,microsoft.com,hotmail.com to stop loading at all. Firefox stops at loading msn.com ..... , this can get very annoying . Sometimes it could be a DNS issue but if changing to opendns servers doesnt solve the problem , then you need to try changing MTU. I have already mentioned on how to change MTU using certain commands , now thats a little long procedure . Now its even more easier via the new network manager . So here's how you do it :

Step 1 : Go to System->Preferences->Network Configuration
Step 2 : If your Connection is a Wired Connection Go to Step 3 , If your connection is a Wireless Connection Go to Step 7
Step 3 : Now Go to The WIRED tab And next to Auto eth0 Click on EDIT .

Step 4 : You should now see a screen like this
Step 5 : Now instead of automatic try any one of the following values in the following order 1492,1454,1452,1460 .One of them should work
