Gizmo is now under Google

This is some really good news for all existing gizmo users . Ever since google voice tied up with gizmo for their SIP support , there was always this feeling that google would acquire gizmo anytime . Now the time has come as Google has officially announced on their blog that they have taken over gizmo voice
The reason i said good news in the beginning is because gizmo voice servers have been pretty unstable since the past few months , ever since google voice tied up with gizmo for SIP support . Since google voice and gizmo were free , a lot of users signed up for this thereby overloading the gizmo servers making it unusable at times!

Now since google has acquired gizmo , a much better and reliable service can be expected . I can already notice the difference as now my SIP adapter no longer goes idle after a while and the call quality has improved . One of the reasons for this is because google has now stopped any new signups for gizmo for the time being and is focusing on improving the current gizmo service so that it works well with google voice .
Google acquiring gizmo is really good news and can change the whole story of internet telephony altogether
