Improve your internet connection's speed

Have you ever felt that your internet speed is slowing down sometimes and it just gets so irritating!!!well your not alone for sure , almost everybody faces this problem!!one of the major reasons being overloaded DNS servers..Didn't get me??
Well let me explain, DNS servers are those servers which redirect you to a particular website..suppose you want to visit google.com or hotmail.com as soon as you press the enter button, you make a connection to your DNS server to ask it where google.com or hotmail.com resides it will give an ip address as an output which will then open the website on your computer..
Now most of us don't bother to look at our internet settings..So mostly the default DNS server would be your ISP's DNS server..Now these servers would be the default for many subscribers ,the numbers could be million and thse servers are not well equipped...So what you could do is change your DNS server to a service whichis more reliable and makes your internet surfing more faster!!
openDNS is a great service which i use...its really fast..their website has instructions on how to switch to their DNS servers..For those of you who know how to do so thenjust change your dns servers to 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 .
It's quite simple to change it.. you can change them in windows by going to control apanel and clicking on network connections.. go to the network adppter which connects you to the internet(it is usually called LOCAL AREA CONNECTION)... there go to the tcp/ip properties and set manually the DNS servers as mentioned above....alternatively you can change them in your modem/router's configuration page!!!in linux you can edit the DNS cip's by going to system-administration-network!!!
