I've mentioned about port forwarding earlier, Many services require certain ports to be open or available for communication or data transfer.Services like webservers, ftp servers, email servers, torrent clients, remote desktop etc etc all require certain specific ports to be opened.Although torrent clients can work with any port.Basically there are two ways to port forward through NAT-DMZ or Virtual Server, if none of these are available then through Telnet. Also would like to mention to you that certain modems show a more advanced configuration page with more features only with certain links like http://192.168.1.1/main.html or http://192.168.1.1/main1.html or http://192.168.1.1/home1.html .. Anyways this is only if you dont find the Virtual server or NAT function in your modem.I've posted on how to do it via the NAT-DMZ method already earlier. That is used incase you cannot find the Virtual Server option.SO here's how you do it:

FOR Huawei Smart AX MT882,Huawei Smart AX MT880,Huawei Smart AX MT841 etc

Step 1 : Go to http://192.168.1.1 and enter username and password as admin
Step 2 : Now you should see a page similar to this

Step 3 : Now look for Virtual Server. It should be found under Advanced->Virtual Server
Step 4 : Now you have reached the Virtual Server Page. Now enter port forwarding details as shown below
Name : Enter any name you wish, this is just for your reference
Private Ip : This is your computer's ip address.Incase you do not know your computer's ip address go to the command prompt of your computer(Start->run and type cmd) and then type ipconfig and you should find your ip address there, its normally in the form 192.168.1.x (linux users type ifconfig in the terminal).
Private Port : Enter the port which you want to forward here(like 80 for webservers,21 for ftp etc)
Public Port : Enter the same port number here

Step 5 : Now click on Apply and Save/Reboot your router and your good to go!!!

FOR Netgear wireless routers

Step 1 : Go to http://192.168.0.1 and enter admin as username and password as password

Step 2 : Now you should see a page similar to this

Step 3 : Now look for Port Forwarding. It should be found under Advanced->Port Forwarding

Step 4 : Now you have reached the Port Forwarding page Page. Now click on Add Custom Service and enter port forwarding details as shown below
Service Name : Enter any name you wish, this is just for your reference
Server Ip Address : This is your computer's ip address.Incase you do not know your computer's ip address go to the command prompt of your computer(Start->run and type cmd) and then type ipconfig and you should find your ip address there, its normally in the form 192.168.1.x (linux users type ifconfig in the terminal).
Starting Port : Enter the port which you want to forward here(like 80 for webservers,21 for ftp etc)
Ending Port : Enter the same port number here
Note : If you want to open multiple ports say port number 6711,6712,6713 and 6714 , then enter 6711 as starting port and enter 6714 as ending port. This will open ports between 6711 and 6714.

Step 5 : Now click on Apply and Save/Reboot your router and your good to go!!!

FOR Dlink Wireless Routers

Step 1 : Go to http://192.168.0.1 and enter username as admin , password is blank in this case
