I usually dont write about subjects which aren't related to technology as this is primarily a technology blog. This is to all my Fellow Indians . Elections are coming up soon . We will be getting an opportunity to vote and we must not let go of this golden opportunity . There is no point in blaming the government later on . Unless we exercise our vote now and choose the right government nothing good will take place . Many of us being adults havent even bothered to get our names on the voters list . I understand its a long process but there is a solution now . I'm sure most of you must have seen the jaagore advertisements on television .
Jaagore is an initiative by Tata and Jaanagraha . Jagoore provides a super easy way to get your name into the voters list and thus allowing you to vote . www.jaagore.com is a fantastic website which provides ALL the information you need to get your name in the voters list . Its really very simple . All you need to do is go to www.jaagore.com and fill in a form . Then print out the form and submit it at the address given on the form. Once you have registered , you will also get regular updates on voting, election related news, reminders on Election Day with polling booth details, confirmation of voter status every time your city’s voting list gets revised.

This video below will show you exactly how the whole process is done . I think the last date is around March 28th 2009 (not sure) . Please do tell all your friends and relatives who are Indians and spread the word . This is a great opportunity we have at hand . So lets be a part of this nationwide campaign at www.jaagore.com and lets contribute to bring about a change in our country. Also note you need to be 18 years and above for you to be able to vote.

I filled up the voting form via jagore.com , but the man at DCO(District collector Office) said " Till now no one has filled form via Jagore.com, so we dont have any idea what to do with that printed form. " With this he gave me 2 forms and asked to fill them and submit.

When I compared the jagore form and the form given by that man only difference was there was some space for photo in form given by DCO :(

Hey Nilay,
Thats pretty unfortunate . I've asked a few people around and its been a pretty smooth ride for them . Hope things get better and everybody votes for an efficient government :)
