Well Airtel has recently launched 16mbps broadband plans in India . Sounds great , 16mbps is superb and i guess they are the first to launch 16mbps in India . So Airtel doing something good after their Fair Usage Policy blunder? Well , not quite , their 16mbps package comes with a VERY VERY low limit.

They have announced two 16mbps plans . One with a 20gb limit and the other with a 50gb limit.

1)16mbps with 20gb limit costs Rs2999
2)16mbps with 50gb limit costs Rs4999

Well a bit expensive as well. But offering a 20gb limit on a 16mbps plan is pretty low i feel. People going for 16mbps would definetly want more than 20gb to use . As of now Airtel has launched this plan only in Chennai,Bangalore and Delhi . They would soon roll out the same plan to other regions as well.

Hey,

Thanks for your feedback on the plans. Well, Airtel has also launched the Impatient Ones Campaign. The concept is young and refreshingly different.

Well nice stuff , but i've had a lot of people telling me that the airtel service recently has been pretty disappointing . People haven't been getting their connections on time , ignoring phone calls, poor customer service etc .
I really dont know whats happening with Airtel . I used to be recommending airtel to people as it was the best when it comes to service . I also heard that airtel once even came and installed a broadband connection on a sunday . CHanging plans , any other information etc was just a phone call away .
But i dont why , things like Fair Usage Policy and the poor service lately hasn't been going in Airtel's way..

Whoever got the patience to watch their rather long ad, would probably not be impatient enough to need that sort of speed.

they should make this plan unlimited at this price or atleast start giving 1,2 or 4 Mbps unlimited below 1000 Rs, limited data transfer plans r just a waste and r of no use to most of internet users, True broadband is only when there is no broadband cap and everything is unlimited, India still ranks 115th at internet speed and is far behind the developed world, shame on india, they should start giving high speed internet and stop giving limited plans, make it unlimited

Rightly said.. I dont see any major improvement in broadband since the past few years.. The upgradation from 256kbps to 2mbps and the increase in download limit ( ex: 1gb to 2.5gb ) were one of the few major improvements made by ISPs.. but ever since there has been NO great improvement AT ALL..
