One of the best features which have been included since the last 2 releases of ubuntu was the live usb creator . I wasn't able to try out this feature earlier but i made sure i did so this time!!I really like that ubuntu had this application inbuilt . It makes it SUPER SIMPLE to create your own ubuntu installed usb . The best part is that this can be used like a regular operating system . Any changes you make , any files or programs you install would be retained even the next time you boot the usb. So its like an operating system which instead of being installed in the hard drive is installed in the usb drive . This is really awesome and something which lacks in windows ( or atleast not easy to configure ). So here's how you do it , in ubuntu :

NOTE : It's always better to have a dedicated usb pen drive just for this as you would need to format the usb drive at the beginning. 2GB pen drive is recommended

Step 1 : Insert your USB pen drive and your Ubuntu 9.04 Live CD into your computer where ubuntu is loaded . NOTE : If you dont have the ubuntu live cd , you could specify the location of the ISO file of ubuntu 9.04 later on.
Step 2 : Now go to System->Administration->USB Startup Disk Creator
Step 3 : You should now see a screen like this

Step 4 : Here the ubuntu live cd as well as the USB pen drive has been detected. If you dont have the live cd Click on OTHER and specify the location of the ubuntu 9.04 ISO file.
Step 5 : Now Click on the FORMAT button as the USB pen drive needs to be formatted
Step 6 : After that is done , below that you could reserve a certain amount of storage space of the pen drive for documents and settings . This is upto you , i kept around 300mb for this.
Step 7 : Once thats done , click on Make Startup Disk

Step 8 : Thats it , after a few minutes your USB drive is ready to go with ubuntu 9.04 :)

Suppose you have a home computer where you keep your data and use the USB drive when you travel. What sort of changes do you need to make so that the data path is going to be your home computer? dyndns probably makes this a reality for many ....
