Yahoo In Pidgin Not Updating Buddy's Online status

I've been facing a small issue in pidgin where all my yahoo buddies seem to be online even when they arent . THis has been happening since a few weeks and it was really frustruating as certain buddies would never show as OFFLINE making it difficult to know which buddies are actually online and which arent .

So playing with the pidgin settings i realized that after changing the paging server , this issue seems to have fixed for me . Here's what you need to do

Step 1 : Open pidgin and go to Accounts->Manage Account ( or press Ctrl+A )

Step 2 : Now choose your yahoo account and click on MODIFY

Step 3 : Now go to Advanced and under paging server insert cn.scs.msg.yahoo.com




Step 4 : Save and close all windows and sign off and sign on yahoo ( or just restart pidgin )

This should fix the issue . The reason for this issue is because a recent ubuntu update changed the yahoo pidgin paging server automatically to scsa.msg.yahoo.com which has some problems.. So basically changing that to cn.scs.msg.yahoo.com fixed it!!
