Gmail Down Again!! How To Get Alerted Via Email During Such Issues

Gmail Has been pretty unstable this month , I guess its been 2 outages already and that too major ones where Quite a few users especially users from India had difficulty in accessing their email for quite a long time . I really hope gmail becomes a lot more stable in the future as its being used as a primary mail service by a majority of users.



I am a big fan of the Google App Status Dashboard , i think it is a fantastic initiative by google to have a list of all their services and their current status . They keep their users informed quite frequently during any outages which i think is very important . Here is a screenshot of the google app status dashboard which can be accessed by CLICKING HERE .

Now apart from this , you could get these updates via email as well. This is because Google App Status has an RSS feed which can be either read instantly using an RSS reader like google reader or you can even receive updates via email . To receive updates via email go to THIS LINK and under website url enter http://www.google.com/appsstatus/rss/en and under email enter your email address . Then just open your email account and click on the confirmation link . Thats it , you will be noted via email the next time any of the google services go down!!
