Cairo Dock - Rocket Dock Alternative For Ubuntu

Cairo Dock is similar to the rocket dock which is a eye candy application launcher which lies at the bottom of your desktop . This is similar to the dock present in MAC . I think this is a very useful tool to have be it in windows or ubuntu or any other OS as it allows quick access to the applications you open regularly . SO it saves a lot of time.

The following simple steps would install cairo dock in ubuntu

Step 1 : Go to the Terminal(Applications->Accessories->Terminal)

Step 2 : Type sudo apt-get install cairo-dock

Step 3 : Type Y wherever required
Step 4 : Once installed go to Applications->Accessories and launch Cairo Dock




Step 5 : Thats it , you should see Cairo dock in your desktop at the bottom

Cairo Dock is highly customizable , you can decide what all applications or add ons you require in the dock , you can change the theme and do a lot more stuff!!
