Be Careful While Creating Email Accounts - Lost Password Option Key to Hack

With email accounts being hacked day in and day out.It is necessary that you are well protected from these hacks.There are various ways by which email accounts are being hacked.They are primarily used to send prank emails or spam messages or even be misused by someone known to you.One of the simplest ways to get into a person's email account is through the "Lost Password" Option.This was exactly how Saran Palin's Yahoo Email Account was hacked.I'm here not to mention the hack , but to help you get away from this.
If you look at Yahoo's Lost password option.The moment you click on LOST PASSWORD, it goes to a page where you are asked to enter the user id.Next you are asked to enter DOB,postal code,Place of birth.Now any person known to you , who wants access to your account would easily know this or could find this out.When you click on Next , it would ask you the answer for a "SECRET QUESTION" which you would have setup when you created your acount.Most people use the default available secret questions, like place of birth, first school, mom's name, favourite hero etc.Answers to these questions too are pretty simple.And guess what, thats the end of it.Once answers to this are given, the person has an option to RESET the password which means complete access to your email account and you would LOOSE access to your account.
Most of us use very simple secret questions, which is very dangerous.Many people now a days want to hack email accounts be it their friends, relatives or even an unknown person's account.Terrorists too do that sometimes to send terror emails.It would be unethical for me to say that you shouldn't enter correct information about your date of birth, postal code etc :D .. I hope you get my point!!Also have a very strong secret question , something which is not common and something which known to everybody.
Remember Its your email account at stake, so be careful!!
