Many people are quite confused with the current bsnl portal system.It is confusing especially for the new users as they have a separate portal and they have to use a specific portal id and not the normal username and password to connect to the internet.So the procedure for checking usage is a bit different , so this tutorial should help you with checking your bsnl broadband usage whether you are a new user or old .
Well typically there are two types of users , its kind of like divided you could say. The new users and the old users. This is how people usually differentiate . Although the "new user " business is quite old now, more than a year i guess. Anyways , old users mostly get an ip address of the form 59.x.x.x whereas new users get ip address of the form 117.x.x.x . Old users have one common user id and password for connecting to the internet as well as checking their broadband usage whereas new users have a seperate user id to connect to the internet and a seperate 14 digit portal id and a password to check their broadband usage.

OLD USERS - CHECKING BROADBAND USAGE
For old users, you could check your broaband usage by going to either one of these links.Incase one link is down, you may try the other

2)http://10.241.0.195/webLogin.jsp
3)http://10.240.48.195/webLogin.jsp

Now on this page , on the right hand box you need to enter your bsnl username and password , the same username and password you use to connect to the internet.

NEW USERS - CHECKING BROADBAND USAGE
For new users, you could check your broaband usage by going to either one of these links.Incase one link is down, you may try the other
1)http://www.data.bsnl.in/wps/portal
2)http://bbservice.bsnl.in/

Now on this page, you need to enter your 14 digit portal id and password.
NOTE : This is not the same username and password you will be using to connect to the internet. This is a 14 digit portal id


BSNL portals unfortunately are not the best.There is some problem or the other.Either the usage is not logged sometimes or somebody else's account opens or sometimes even the site doesnt open.

I'm in the"old user" category.when i log in and provide my username and pass and further in "service records" when i choose "All services" and "All Domain" it gives me an usage of 0.193GB for the current month..While when i choose "home 250 upto 2gb"(my actual plan)it was giving me an usage of 0.050 gb??whats the ideal way to check your actual usage??what has happened in my case??what all things are to be selected in the provided options??

Hey,
The usage you see under "All services" and "All Domain" is the actual usage. You wouldnt get an option to choose " home 250 upto 2gb" that is your plan, you cant change that in the portal. It seems to me that as of now you have used 193mb.

i was an old user.Then user name ?Password was rendered invalid.They gave me new U N & P W.Now i am unable to open PORTAL to see Data Usage. What to do PL.? om_prakash45@sifi.com

YOu would have to call bsnl customer care and ask specifically for your PORTAL userid and password.. call 1500 or 1800 424 1600

how s home combo uld950 plan? i use bsnl landline at home. how many free calls are available with this plan? approx how much will it cost me every month?(i make max 100 calls using landline every month)
